Who am I?
Hi There!
I'm Ashleigh a 33 year old mum of twin boys! Yes that's right twin boys who are my absolute life, although they give mum a run for her money all the same haha! They are typical cheeky little boys who absolutely love adventure and running a muck, which of course keeps me on my toes all day! But what does that mean? Plenty of time to get out & explore what our lovely home here in Adelaide has to offer and take some gorgeous photos along the way!
For anyone wo knows me they can tell you its very rare for me to leave the house without a camera of some sort in my car or bag! To me every day life is an adventure and why not document that? Our kids grow bigger every day & every day is a new adventure to capture & cherish forever. To capture those adventures from their eyes in that moment of who they are on that day because before we know it, we blink & that day has passed & the next day brings on a whole new sense of being in that little person.
I grew up right here in Adelaide, SA in the southern suburb of Hallett Cove & whilst I no longer live in that suburb I'm still very much a southern suburb's gal & visit Hallett Cove regularly where my parents still live in our family home. I grew up with my younger sister, mum & dad, we visited our family holiday home most weekends where we lived on the river water skiing & running a muck, which now our children are lucky enough to get to do to, its become our little family tradition.
On weekends when we aren't visiting our family holiday home or I'm not out snapping one of my beautiful clients families we enjoy exploring the beautiful coastline & wine country we are blessed to have surround us. Only 20 mins from our door is the beautiful & scenic McLaren Vale wine country (I do enjoy a good drop of wine) & some of the most beautiful beaches in the state are located right here in the heart of the south of Adelaide.
Wow all of that sounds pretty damn good doesn't it?? Well if only life were just that perfect haha! But like every other human on the planet life isn't always perfect, I am a full time single mum to my beautiful boys which means a lot of work and not a lot of me time, but to me that's what being a mum is all about and a whole lot of fun! We may not have the picture perfect family, written in all those romantic love stories but to me we are as close to perfect as it can get, we are happy & healthy!
So now I here you ask, where do you get the time to take photo's of your beautiful clients & their families? I have an amazing support network from my family & friends, plus a little help from child care I get to have an amazing work/home life balance :)
Taking photographs is my me time, it's that time where I get to immerse myself in what I love to do & know that I am creating beautiful memories for other families, on that day, as just who they are in that moment in time & that is magic!
